Together, we’ll tend to parts of you that usually go unseen.

You feel like this…

You're often in a dysregulated state like hyperarousal (anxious, agitated, overwhelmed, irritable) or hypoarousal (shut down, spacey, tired, depressed).

You're stuck in your head with racing thoughts, intellectualization, pointless rumination, reviewing the past or anticipating future. You’ve tried talking it out and you’re still stuck.

You’re at a crossroads and aren’t sure how your past trauma is impacting your present.

But want to feel like this…

Most of the time you're in a regulated state of calm, relaxed, enlivened, engaged, present and clear. Stress still happens, but you have tools for moments of dysregulation.

You feel a wave of emotion come up and rather than avoid it, you feel it, let it pass and feel better afterward. Your mind is sharp and your breath is deep.

You understand yourself - your strengths, your triggers and everything in between. You feel accepting of what made you, you.

Intergenerational patterns in our families affect our day-to-day lives. Identify cycles and move past those that don’t serve you.

Hi, I’m Madison Oie.

I accompany people on the exploration of their inner worlds. My primary focus is helping people expand their awareness of themselves and deepen into their here-and-now experiences.

I’m a trauma survivor who accessed healing through therapy. I work with folks who are struggling in their life or find themselves ready to heal and grow.

What happens in therapy?

It depends! Every session is tailored to your needs and what’s alive for you. As an integrative therapist, I draw from multiple disciplines to meet you where you’re at. No matter the approach we take, I believe therapy should always be trauma-informed, collaborative and consensual.

Parts Work

Internal family systems aka ‘parts work’ is an evidence-based modality that involves getting to know different aspects of ourselves. Speaking to and from these parts creates stronger inner relationships and sense of Self. All parts are welcome. Read more here.

Exploration of Memories

Looking at the past can be painful, but it can also unlock agency and insight. We’ll move through memory at your pace to understand how you became you. This may look like revisiting difficult times and exploring new outcomes.

Body-Based (Somatic) Insights

We may use mindfulness and somatic exploration to tap into the body’s sensations and memories. The body can help bring unconscious material, emotions and visualizations into session and show us a strength-based path toward healing. Read more here.

Studying Patterns

Understanding our behavior, thoughts or relationship patterns gives us information about what needs attention and healing. I use attachment theory and a relational approach to help uncover patterns.

Areas of focus

I welcome people of all identities and intersections. All races, religions, genders and sexual orientations are affirmed and celebrated in my practice. Below are some specialities. If you’re curious about our fit, please reach out.

  • Trauma work is my core focus.

Trauma shows up in many ways - it could be a feeling a distance from your life, it could be moments of ‘trigger’ where you can’t control your behavior, it could be using coping mechanisms that are hurting more than helping.

Trauma informed care means slow, safe, intentional work. We can heal your nervous system, taking it out of fight/flight and into it’s ‘window of tolerance’ where you can not just survive, but thrive.

I work with folks who have PTSD or complex trauma diagnoses - as well as no diagnosis at all.

  • Anxiety can show up anywhere: at work, with friends, with family (and beyond). The discomfort in your body/mind from anxiety can seriously cloud the ability to live a full and present life.

Working with anxiety looks different for everyone. It may involve challenge thoughts, discovering insights about the origins of the thoughts or implementing tools to calm your nervous system.

  • Humans are hardwired for connection. Experiencing loneliness, unfulfillment or conflict within your relationships is stressful for the body, mind and spirit.

My style of therapy is relational, meaning the relationship developed in session will give us insights about the relationships occurring outside of the therapy space.

Feeling stuck and hurt in relationships can be draining and heartbreaking. Therapy can help remove blocks to facilitate a healing process.

In addition to working with individuals, I work with people in couples, open relationships and poly relationships.

In relationship work, I mediate deep conversations without creating more harm and trigger. By practicing this nonviolent communication skills in therapy, you can learn to have these conversations outside of session.

  • Full disclosure: I’m a cis woman with a history of het relationships, and thus don’t have lived experience as a LGBTQIA+ person.

I offer a system-informed approach which means I believe we don’t exist in isolation. In therapy, we may address oppressive experiences and discrimination - in the service of building resilience and joy.

I believe sexuality and gender can (and perhaps, should) be explored by all of us. I help clients of all identities discover how to be fully and radiantly themselves.

  • I work well with people with analytical minds, whether it be engineers, scientists, operationally-minded folks or others. I’m able help untangle webs and create mind maps to bring insight and self-understanding.

Sometimes, emotions are more challenging to access. There are ways to come into contact with emotions (at your pace) to help release blockages.

  • Scary or anxiety-producing thoughts can lead to unwanted behaviors, which then increases anxiety further. This cycle is difficult to stop on your own. In therapy, we can identify this cycle, discover its origins and work to free you from it’s grips.

I utilize a mixture of modalities: ERP, CBT, DBT as well as trauma-informed psychodyanmic work.

  • I believe in using the vitality of creative energy for healing. Playing with metaphors, contacting visual representations of parts and even creating art can all be part of a therapy session!

Together, we’ll find a way through your difficult experience in an authentic and expressive way.

  • If you’re struggling with overwhelming feelings, feel alone or misunderstood, feel confused by societal messages or aren’t sure how your path may unfold - I’m here to help.

I work with young adults who are forming their identity, healing their trauma and finding their path in a mindful, inspired way.

  • I utilize evidence based modalities like DBT (dialectical behavior therapy) to treat disordered eating which means we’ll focus on mindfulness, tolerating discomfort and emotional processing. We’ll uncover tools, tips and tricks that work for you.

I also take a trauma-informed IFS approach to disordered eating. We may explore where this all began, what ‘job’ the disordered eating ‘part’ is doing for you and how to form a new relationship with that ‘part’.

Lastly, I love to talk about the nervous system! We’ll pay attention to different signals coming from the body to understand where your nervous system is at and what it might need to find soothing.
